Groomio's Policies

 

Here at Groomio’s we have some set policies that you should read and understand. They may apply to you and your dog. Please ask if anything needs further clarification.

 

Social Media

I may use Before and After pictures of your dog online on my website and social media pages.

• The dog’s name may be shown.

• I will never publish owner’s names or addresses.

• If you would NOT like your dog to appear online, please let me know beforehand.

 

Cancelation

There may be times when you need to cancel an appointment.

• I require 24 hour’s notice, so I can try to refill this slot.

• If less than 24 hour’s notice (or no notice) is given, a charge of up to the full price of the groom may be made depending on the amount of notice given. This charge will be added when you book your next appointment.

 

Late Pick Up

Whilst we can all sometimes be ‘running a little late’ you should always endeavour to collect you dog at the agreed time.

• Late pick-ups affect other customers, their dog’s and the one-to-one service I provide.

• I do not have kennels to house your dog and this may require me to cancel the next appointment.

• For late pick-ups, a fee of £5 per 15 minutes will be charged.

Infestations

All dogs can get the occasional flea (or tick) and this is no reflection on the owner.

• Should fleas be found during the groom, I will stop the groom and attempt to contact you.

• For mild cases I can de-flea the dog at a charge of £5 per 15 minutes.

• Heavily infested dogs will not be groomed and must be collected as soon as possible and charges for the booking and sanitising the studio may be applied.

De-Matting

I understand that occasionally dogs will come to me with KNOTS. These can usually be removed but often it takes time.

• I will only attempt to remove knots for up to 15 minutes as it can be very stressful for the dog and can cause skin irritation.

• If your dog is very tolerant of the process, I will consider an extra 15 minutes at an extra charge on top of the groom price.

 

MATTING is a different story!

• Matts will not be teased out and will need to be clipped off.

• In commonly matted areas such as armpits and under ears, the removed fur can often be hidden.

• Occasionally the whole coat may be matted. In this case the dog will be fully clipped.

  • You will be asked to sign a Clip-Off Form before leaving your dog for its groom.

  • If matting is found during the groom, I will attempt to contact you to discuss the issue. If you cannot be contacted, I may stop the groom.

  • A charge may be added for de-matting services.

 

Veterinary Care

In the unlikely event your pet falls ill whilst it is with me or needs some sort of veterinary care; Groomio’s is registered with Heckington Veterinary Surgery.

• In an emergency your pet will be taken to the surgery and you may be responsible for the costs of the care they provide.

 

Anal Glands

I do NOT express anal glands. If this procedure is required, please refer to your vet.

 

Bitches in Season

If you dog is in season we cannot groom her.

• It can be very stressful as she will be hormonal.

• The scent she will leave in the studio will be too distracting for any male dogs that come afterwards.

 

Complaints

If you have a complaint about the grooming service provided, you must contact me within 48 hours from collection of your dog.

• Where appropriate I will try resolve the situation as quickly as possible.
